On Friday, September 7, 2018, Representative David Baria released his first ad of the 2018 general election. The ad, which highlights Representative Baria’s progressive bona fides, his work as the House Democratic leader and polls that show a competitive race against Senator Roger Wicker is backed by a five-figure buy and will be sent nation wide.
(JACKSON, MS) - Democratic candidate for the United States Senate, Rep. David Baria (D-Bay St. Louis) responds to a misleading ad from Senator Roger Wicker (R). His statement is below:
Baria said, “I am grateful to the many friends and volunteers who have knocked on doors, made phone calls, written postcards and helped in so many other ways. Campaigns are hard work and I am proud to have been joined in this effort by some of the hardest working people I know.”
Baria said, “It is very encouraging to see so many Mississippians across the state joining in the effort to give voters a true choice in November.”
Rep. David Baria, D-Bay St. Louis, issued a statement Friday stating, “Hateful threats should have no place in our discourse and I think part of the responsibility is on us as public officials to call this behavior out when it happens. … This week demonstrates that we need all good Mississippians to keep doing good work and remain vocal.”
